The All Progressives Congress, APC Ikeja Campaign LOC led by Maiyegun Dally Adeokun, commenced Ward Campaigns, starting with Ward A, to promote the party’s flag bearers, Chairmanship candidate Hon Akeem Olalekan Dauda AKOD, his running mate Hon Abisola Omisore, and the Ward Councillorship candidate, Hon Rasheed Ogunseye on Wednesday.
The Ward A campaign kicked off at Unity road, where Hon Dauda addressed a large turnout of mostly youths, highlighting the importance of effective grassroots governance and creating opportunities for Ikeja’s youth.
The APC Ikeja Chairmanship candidate made a commitment to incorporate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Agenda into his Ikeja Agenda blueprint and manifesto, aiming to create a more prosperous and greater Ikeja.
The campaign procession subsequently toured all major streets in the Ward, making courtesy calls to prominent political and traditional leaders in the Ward, including a visit to the Regent of Ikeja, High-Chief Adekunle Apena at the Palace, and the Baale of Allen Chief Bolaji Thomas Jaji, gave his Royal blessings for Hon Dauda and his team.
The campaign train also made a stop at the resident of the former Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon Wahab Owokoniran, before converging at the front of the Ikeja Central mosque after receiving prayers from the Chief Imam and the final rally was wrapped up with several declarations of solidarity supports and donations of souvenirs to the APC candidates.
