The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Tuesday commissioned the newly constructed Aiyemojuba Street in Onipetesi, signalling another milestone in the administration’s 100 Working Days achievements.
The project was unveiled by Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Member, House of Representatives, Ikeja Federal Constituency, who was represented by the APC Ikeja LGA Chairman, Alhaji Adekunle Dally-Adeokun.
The road becomes the second major infrastructure project delivered and commissioned under the AKOD-led government within the ongoing 100-day rollout.
Aiyemojuba Street now features modern solar-powered street lights, enhancing security and night-time visibility for residents. The installation of the solar lights was facilitated by Rt. Hon. Faleke, whose contribution to infrastructural development across Ikeja continues to draw commendation.
Speaking at the event, Chairman AKOD said the completion of the project reflects his administration’s dedication to the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA, focused on quality road construction, improved community living standards, and sustainable development.
He noted that more interventions are underway to position Ikeja as a model local government in Nigeria.
Residents of Onipetesi expressed gratitude to both the council chairman and the federal lawmaker for the timely completion of the road and the added value brought by the solar lighting initiative.
Dignitaries present included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore; management and staff of Ikeja Local Government led by the Head of Administration, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko; APC leaders across the LGA; CDC Chairperson, Alhaja Folami; Onipetesi CDA executives and members; among others.
