
Lagos has suffered another building collapse, as a three-storey building on 2/4 Oyesonuga Street, Palm Avenue, off Oye Roundabout, Isolo Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State, suddenly collapsed on Friday, with four bodies recovered, 2 males and 2 females, while three were rescued

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed in series of updated messages signed and sent to Lagos Panorama by the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, said “A building has collapsed in Mushin a few minutes ago. The rescue operation is ongoing,”


Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu in an earlier message said “further investigation revealed that the collapsed building was an adjoining building to another three storey building”
“Two people who were trapped inside the building have been rescued and treated, however, we were informed two females that are occupant of the building are still missing”.
“LRT, LASG fire, LNSC, LABSCA and NPF are all responders at the scene”.
“However, there are visible cracks on the remaining standing building that needs urgent attention”.
“Building has been cordoned off and evacuated”

However, in another update as at 19:49hrs Oke-Osanyitolu stated that “after a painstaking search, one female has been rescued from the rubble. This brings the total rescued alive from the incident scene to THREE”.
“The victim has received first aid at the scene and been transferred to hospital. Four bodies recovered (2 males and 2 females) and they have been handed over to SEHMU unit for onward deposit to Mortuary”
