President Muhammadu Buhari transmits bill seeking retirement age increase for teachers from 65 to 70 years.

The National Assembly is now expected to approve the bill which will ensure that teachers can teach for a further 5 years.

The President approved the proposal for the extension of the retirement of teachers in 2020 after years of pressure from the teaching profession to raise the retirement age of teachers to 70 years.
