Rachel Oniga (1957 – 2021)

She was active in the Yoruba and English sectors of Nollywood, and acted creditably in both. Her last major movie appearance was in the comedy movie, My Village People, which premiered on June 6. She was reported to have shot some scenes in a movie in Mowe, Ogun State, just before her sudden death on July 30. The public relations officer of the Actors’ Guild, Lagos State chapter, Olamilekan Ojora, said he had looked forward to meeting her on the Sensations movie set the day after she died. She was 64.
