Valentine Buraimoh lists out mandatory conditions for business owners and market hubs in Amuwo Odofin LG

The Federal Government may consider a lockdown of the 18 Local Government Areas considered to account for 60 per cent of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria in the next phase of eased lockdown in the country. Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, said affected state governments would implement what he called “precision lockdown.”

Following the recent list of the PTF on COVID 19 in which Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area was among the 18 Local Governments where the virus has taken a surge, Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, has made known the fact that his administration will intensify deliberate drastic steps in the fight against COVID 19.

The Council Helmsman, who made this statement in a Press Conference held at Amuwo Odofin Council Secretariat Hall, stated that a committee will be set up with the responsibility to implement action plans in cushioning the effects and spread of COVID 19 in the LGA while focusing on businesses and market hubs.

Valentine also reiterated that the services of a safety expert will be engaged in training the stakeholders particularly business owners on the basic safety protocols required in workplaces and market hubs.

The training theme; Post Covid-19 Safety Protocols training for all business owners in Amuwo Odofin LGA, will be made compulsory as it has become a condition for doing business in the Local Government Area.

The Safety training scheduled to hold on 14th -17th July 2020, will see that business owners will be able to attend to community members seeking their services while also maintain all safety protocols to help in reducing the surge of the pandemic in the LGA.
