The Lagos State Government, through Health District III, on Friday urged all Medical Officers of Health (MOHs) to make data verification a routine responsibility at every level in order to strengthen internal review mechanisms within all Local Government Areas and facilities.

The Permanent Secretary Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke gave the advice during the Quarterly Data Review Meeting held at the District Head Office, Ikoyi, Lagos, stressing that accountability in data management is not optional but every figure submitted must reflect actual service delivery at all Primary Healthcare facilities.

She said the Government is not interested in impressive numbers on paper but in real impact within the communities, adding that False Data affects planning, vaccine allocation, funding decisions, outreach strategies, and ultimately puts lives at risk.

Dr. Adeleke noted that the state has introduced a web-based reporting application to strengthen accountability, transparency, real-time reporting and performance monitoring, revealing that all facilities are expected to Log into the platform weekly to select the correct reporting week.

The Permanent Secretary reminded all officers that weekly facility coverage data must be submitted to the district by 8:00 pm on Thursdays, adding that timeliness remains essential for effective review and decision-making.

“Together, we can improve immunisation coverage, strengthen maternal and child health services, restore confidence in our reporting systems and ultimately improve health outcomes for the people of Lagos State”, she said.

Earlier, the Head of Health Information Management, Mrs. Bolaji Simbo made a presentation titled “Health District III, QI – 2024 – 2025 – 2026 for Ibeju – Lekki, Epe as well as Eti – Osa LGAs”, and Pharm. Damola Adaramoye from Pharmaceutical Services Department also delivered a presentation titled “Consumption Patterns of Life Saving & Essential Health Commodities (2024 – 2025)”.
