Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After State Visit to Türkiye

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday night returned to Nigeria following the conclusion of his state visit to the Republic of Türkiye.

The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 8:55 p.m. aboard an Airbus A330.

A brief notice issued by the Presidency to State House correspondents confirmed his arrival later on Saturday evening.

President Tinubu’s visit to Türkiye, which commenced on Tuesday, featured high-level bilateral engagements with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and culminated in the signing of nine bilateral agreements. The agreements cover key areas including defence, energy, security cooperation, research, and other strategic sectors critical to both countries.

Discussions between the two leaders focused on deepening diplomatic, economic, and security ties, with an emphasis on expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Members of the presidential delegation included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar; the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.); and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
