The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has announced plans to leverage the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise to expand residents’ data capture across the state.
This followed a strategic meeting between the General Manager of LASRRA, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, and the Chairman of the APC in Lagos State, Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi. The meeting was held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the party’s secretariat on Acme Road, Ogba.
Discussions at the meeting centred on exploring a collaborative framework that would allow the APC’s e-registration platform—recently launched for card-carrying party members—to also serve as an avenue for registering and validating eligible Lagos residents who are yet to be captured on the LASRRA database.
Both parties underscored the critical role of comprehensive and inclusive data in enhancing governance, planning, and efficient service delivery in Lagos State. The proposed partnership is expected to create additional access points for residents to enrol in the state’s official identity database.
Speaking during the engagement, Mrs. Adebiyi-Abiola said the initiative aligns with LASRRA’s mandate to ensure that every resident of Lagos State is properly identified, irrespective of political affiliation.
“This collaboration provides an opportunity to bring residents’ registration closer to the people by leveraging existing, well-structured platforms to deepen participation in the LASRRA initiative,” she said.
In his remarks, Mr. Ojelabi reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to initiatives that promote good governance and inclusive development. He noted that the party’s e-registration exercise offers a credible platform that can be harnessed to support the state’s broader data-gathering objectives for the benefit of all Lagos residents.
