Tinubu Departs for Europe Ahead of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break, ahead of an official engagement in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break, ahead of an official engagement in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency, President Tinubu has been invited by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit, scheduled to hold in early January.

The weeklong summit is an annual global platform that brings together leaders from government, business, and civil society to deliberate on strategies for advancing sustainable development worldwide.

This year’s edition, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” is expected to link ambition with concrete action across innovation, finance, and human capital, while highlighting pathways for global progress and sustainable growth.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
