Lagos DML Kasunmu hosts 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Forum, outlines achievements of Renewed Hope Initiative

The Lagos State House of Assembly’s Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. (Prince) Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), hosted the 10th Edition of the Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting for Ikeja Constituency II at the EKO FM Marquee, LTV 8 Premises, Agidingbi, Ikeja on Thursday.

The Lagos State House of Assembly’s Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. (Prince) Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), hosted the 10th Edition of the Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting for Ikeja Constituency II at the EKO FM Marquee, LTV 8 Premises, Agidingbi, Ikeja on Thursday.

The event brought together a diverse group of attendees, including traditional rulers, community leaders, party stalwarts, and constituents.

Notably in attendance were the Olu of Aguda, Oba Shaibu Agbaosi Eweobaja, the Regent of Ikeja, Prince Adekunle Arena, the Council of Baales in Ikeja Constituency II, as well as political leaders including Alhaji Adekunle Dally-Adeokun, Chairman of APC Ikeja LG who also serves as the Chair of Chairs (Lagos LGA APC Chairmen) and Alhaja Stella Olusola Kokumo, APC Chairman Ojodu LCDA.

Delivering the keynote address, Hon. Kasunmu underscored the importance of the annual meeting, which takes place simultaneously across all 40 constituencies in Lagos, as a platform for accountability, engagement, and participatory governance.

The theme for this year, ‘Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda’, was selected to showcase the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s government in Lagos, and the Lagos State House of Assembly’s legislative support.

Kasunmu praised President Tinubu’s economic reforms, security achievements, infrastructural renewal, and investments in education and healthcare, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has begun to yield tangible benefits. He also highlighted the Student Loan Fund (NELFUND), enhanced security funding, agricultural modernization, and infrastructural upgrades as key milestones that have restored optimism nationwide.

On Lagos State, he commended Governor Sanwo-Olu’s urban renewal initiatives, innovative transportation solutions, housing schemes, and technology-driven governance, emphasizing that Lagos has emerged as a model of modern urbanism.

 

Additionally, he praised the legislative-executive synergy under Speaker Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa, which has led to progressive laws promoting social welfare, environmental sustainability, education, and healthcare.

 

Kasunmu reminded stakeholders that the Lagos Assembly has passed over 467 resolutions and several life-changing laws, including the establishment of LASUED, LASUST, and the forthcoming University of Medicine and Health Sciences to enhance medical education.

 

Reassuring his constituents, ARK reaffirmed that the Assembly remains committed to transparency, accountability, and service delivery.

 

The town hall meeting culminated in an interactive session, where constituents provided feedback and expressed concerns, aligning with the Assembly’s tradition of enhancing government accessibility.

 

In his closing remarks, Hon. Kasunmu expressed gratitude to the leaders and members of Ikeja Constituency 2 for the opportunity to serve.

 

During the event, the Deputy Majority Leader celebrated the birthday of esteemed GAC Member, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, leading the assembly in a resounding birthday song in his honor.

 

At the event, Hon. Kasunmu acknowledged Hon. James Abiodun Faleke’s outstanding performance as a leader and representative of Ikeja at the National Assembly.

 

Alhaji Adeokun and Alhaja Kokumo commended Hon. Kasunmu, Hon. Faleke, the Council chairmen of Ikeja and Ojodu, Gov. Sanwoolu, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of registering for PVCs as soon as possible.

 

They emphasized the importance of registering for PVC and urged all those who have not yet done so to participate in the ongoing registration process.
