The Kwara State Police Command has validated the arrest of Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, also known as “Portable” in the entertainment industry, subsequent to a petition submitted by Mr. Okunola Saheed, popularly known as “Osupa”, against Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, a.k.a. “Portable”.
The confirmation of the artiste’s arrest is contained in a press release issued to journalists on Sunday night in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, by the Police Public Relations Officer of Kwara Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi.
According to the statement, detectives from the Kwara Command have undertaken lawful measures to investigate the allegations in accordance with due process.
The police authority pointed out that the petition involves serious allegations, including criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and the use of abusive and insinvestigation
Considering the weight of these allegations and the supporting evidence, the Command obtained a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin.
Operatives from the Command then proceeded to Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday, 13th April 2025, apprehended the suspect at about 19:25hrs, and brought him to Ilorin for further investigation.
Upon arrival, the suspect provided a statement in the presence of legal representatives from both parties, and he is currently in cusdelay
The State stressed that the Kwara State Police Command is committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring fair and transparent justice, urging the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information, as arrangements are being made to charge him in court without delay.
