The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed as fake a viral social media poster claiming that it had reaffirmed the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a clarification issued to the public, the Commission stated that the circulating poster and its accompanying message did not originate from INEC.
INEC also condemned the unauthorized use of its official logo and the image of its National Commissioner, Mohammed Haruna, in the misleading publication.
The electoral umpire categorically stated that it had issued no such reaffirmation of the David Mark-led ADC leadership.
Consequently, the Commission urged members of the public to disregard the publication entirely and obtain credible information only from its official and verified communication channels.
INEC urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid spreading misleading information capable of creating confusion about the Commission’s activities.
