The Project LOUD Sanwo-Olu ICT and Skill Acquisition Centre has announced plans to host the 6th edition of the intensive training for interested residents of Lagos State designed to equip participants with skills to function maximally in today’s world.

The coordinator of the centre, Prince Kenny Bakare, in a statement, said adequate arrangements have been firmed up to host another successful edition of the intensive 2-month all-expenses paid training.

According to Bakare, the vision of the Centre aligns with the passion of the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to build a Lagos where every citizen is equipped with the skills, tools, and confidence to thrive in a modern economy.

He said through the previous editions held in 2024, over 1,500 residents of the state successfully participated in the training and graduated, while the plan this year is to double the number of beneficiaries to 3,000.

Bakare said in line with the tradition of the centre, participants will be equipped with various skills including Tailoring, Shoe Making, Tye and Dye, Digital Marketing and Introduction to Photography (compulsory for everyone), Catering and Mixology.

Bakare said other Courses available at the training academy include Baking and Pastries, Facials and Massage, Wig Making, Micro Blanding and Lash Extension, as well as Make Up and Gele.

“This year, we will host the induction/graduation ceremony on 29th of January and as it was with the previous editions, the participants will be subjected to 2-month intensive training to equip and empower them. The training itself is totally free and fully sponsored by the Governor of Lagos State. At the end of the training, participants will be awarded certificates and linked with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund with low-interest loans and will also be supported with relevant work tools.

“We encourage the youths and Lagosians in general to seize the opportunity of this training to unlock their potentials with Vocational Skills, learn in-demand skills, gain the expertise to either start their own business or land a great job,” Bakare said.

The project, Bakare added, is aimed at empowering young Nigerians in particular and the people at large to be self-reliant and smash the shackles of unemployment and poverty.

“We are upbeat that the seed money given to participants as well as the relevant work tools will help all successful beneficiaries to, upon completion of their training programmes, begin something on their own, and not waiting for employment.

“As a follow-up to the online registration, Student Registration and Screening begins on January 15 and ends on January 16, 2025. We invite all pre-registered students to register and participate in the physical screening process which will hold at 114, Western Avenue, Beside Qua Iboe Church, Barracks Under Bridge, Surulere, Lagos,” Bakare said.
