Hon Oladotun Olakanle, Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, has passed away, reports Lagos Panorama.
Born February 3, 1970, in Ikeja, Nigeria, details regarding the cause of his death are not publicly available. Nonetheless, sources reveal that a sudden illness necessitated his hospitalization, causing him to miss the Council’s event where security vans were allocated to police stations and other LCDA agencies.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the 27 of August 2020 sworn-in Hon. Oladotun Olakanle as the new Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) after the demised of his predisesor late Babatunde Oke who died early Wednesday, August 12, 2020, having been sick for some time.
According to an anonymous source, Lagos Panorama was informed that the late council chairman was seen attending a Diamond Jubilee birthday celebration for a colleague at Radisson Blu in Ikeja, Lagos, just two nights prior.
Oladotun’s lineage comprised the Abejide family of Oke-Agbe, Akoko, Ondo State, and the Adeleye Ramoni Fayemi clan of Agboroko Town, Iba LCDA, Badagry Division, Lagos State.
His educational background included primary schools in Agege, Lagos, and Kagoro Road, Kaduna, followed by Community Secondary School, Egbeda, Kwara State, where he obtained his WAEC in 1987.
Subsequently, he attended the Institute of Basic and Applied Sciences, sitting for the IJMB in 1989, and later earned a B.Sc. in Sociology and an MPA from Lagos State University’s Ojo and Agege campuses.
