Sanyeri is a Nigerian comedian, actor and film maker, born Olaniyi Mikail Afonja on the 14 October 1974 to the family of Mr. Afonja a carpenter, in Bola Area of Oyo town of Oyo State, as the first child of his parents.
Olaniyi had his formal education at St. Michael Primary School, Òkè-èbó, Oyo State and Durbar Grammar School, Oyo Town, Oyo State where he finished his secondary school education.

Career
When the son of the carpenter was 18-year-old, he ventured into acting professionally, even though this decision did not sit down well with his parents who wanted him to further his education.
Olaniyi’s acting career started in 1992, after joining a theatre group introduced to him by a friend. In 1996, Olaniyi relocated to Lagos State to further his career and has since starred in several Yoruba films.
As a show of their displeasure, his mother, who was a trader once stormed an event and used rope to tie him before dragging him away from the stage during the early stage of his acting career.
Sanyeri didn’t give up despite the pressure from his parents. His popularity shot in the air when he featured in a movie titled Opakan, produced years ago.
He is now doing good for himself and his family. Olaniyi is married to Omolara Afonja with whom he has two children.
