The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Taskforce has confiscated 50 motorcycles along the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway corridor for riding on the highway in violation of the Lagos State traffic law.
Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab disclosed this on Sunday on X he also shared a video showing taskforce officials taking action against erring motorists, commercial motorcyclists and unauthorised structures along the route.
The commissioner disclosed that the taskforce had commenced enforcement against banned Okada operation, one-way traffic violations, and removal of shanties erected along the corridor.
The commissioner added that 10 vehicles were also apprehended and charged to court for driving against traffic.
“This enforcement will be sustained in order to restore sanity on the road,” he said.
In November 2025, the commissioner stated that clearance operations were being sustained along the corridor to address environmental and safety concerns.
