‘SPEED UP LAGOS is key to poverty reduction and economic growth – Oloro

Engr. Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro, the Executive Chairman Ojodu LCDA in his quest for excellence in the democratic arena imbibed and keyed into Lagos State Government policy thrust of ‘SPEED UP LAGOS’ by training and graduating 700 Ojodu residents in ‘Human Capacity Building.

The Sanwo-Olu’s Projecting, Enhancing, Elevating, Developing, Upgrading and Perfecting Lagos (SPEED-UP LAGOS) initiative graduated 700 Trainees sponsored by the Ojodu LCDA recently at the Oluremi Tinubu Vocational Centre, Shogunro-Ogba, Ojodu-Ikeja-Lagos.

It was with pomp and Pageantry, the students show cased their learnt skills on Home Essential products, Fabric Design, Make-up and Head Gear, Catering Classical, Souvenir bags, Customized and Printing of gift items and Events planning.

To complement the Lagos State present and future investment initiatives in human capacity building skills.

The Chairman in his keynote address itemised the impacts and importance of the programme for youths, women and the society at large.

According to Oloro “SPEED UP LAGOS is key to poverty reduction and economic growth. The policy also identify women and youth as the bed rock of the nation’s economy”.

The Ojodu Council boss also noted that, “Conforming with the words and legacy of Abdul Kanan, that ‘Learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge, and knowledge make you great’ so learning in all its facet, never exhaust the mind. Therefore ‘SPEED UP LAGOS’ is an alternative empowerment resolution that is people centered” he asserted.

He also advised the graduands to make good use of the knowledge Impacted on them by engaging positively in their learnt skills regularly.
