Zenith Bank Plc will commemorate International Women’s Day 2026 with a renewed call for purposeful leadership and bold action, as it hosts its annual International Women’s Day (IWD) Seminar on Monday, March 9, 2026, at The Civic Centre.

Aligned with the global theme, “Give to Gain,” which emphasises intentional investment in women as a pathway to sustainable progress, the Bank has adopted the seminar theme, “Take It, You Own It.” The theme underscores a dual responsibility: while institutions must create enabling environments and equitable systems, women are encouraged to step forward, seize opportunities, and confidently take ownership of their growth and leadership journeys.

Building on the momentum of previous editions — including the 2025 seminar themed “Winning On All Fronts” — the 2026 programme aims to deepen conversations around women’s empowerment, leadership advancement, and sustainable impact. Over the years, Zenith Bank’s IWD initiatives have convened accomplished women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging talents for impactful dialogue, mentorship, and shared learning focused on gender equity and inclusive opportunity.

More than a commemorative event, the 2026 seminar is positioned as a strategic convergence of influence, insight, and inspiration. It will bring together distinguished voices from business, governance, technology, the creative industries, and social impact sectors to explore practical pathways for advancing women’s leadership and participation across industries.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Group Managing Director/CEO, Adaora Umeoji, OON, who will deliver the welcome address, noted that International Women’s Day serves as a reminder that progress demands intentional action.

“‘Give to Gain’ reflects the responsibility of institutions to create meaningful opportunities, while ‘Take It, You Own It’ challenges women to step forward boldly and lead. At Zenith Bank, we are deliberate about fostering environments where women are empowered to grow, thrive, and shape outcomes — not only within our institution but across the communities and industries we serve,” she said.

The seminar will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and creative segments centred on leadership insight, professional empowerment, wellbeing, and collaboration. Organisers say the carefully curated programme is designed to equip participants with practical strategies for advancing equity while inspiring meaningful action.

Through its alignment with the global IWD theme and its bold seminar focus, Zenith Bank reaffirms its commitment to building platforms that recognise, amplify, and enable women’s potential.

As conversations around inclusion continue to shape the future of business and society, the Bank remains steadfast in its mission to support women in owning their value and driving transformative change across sectors.
