The Executive Chairman of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal has hosted the Year 2024 Budget Consultative Forum to interact and seek the input of critical stakeholders for sustainable development of the council.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal acknowledged the presence of all dignitaries and every other person present at the 2024 Budget of Economic development and empowerment.
Hon Fuad, in his address, said his administration focused majorly on infrastructural development which has distinguished the LCDA.from the beginning of his administration to date.
He said he want to focus on human development and empowerment which will foster economic development in the lcda. thus tagged the “YEAR 2024 BUDGET OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT”
Hon Fuad , said Two hundred Residents will be empowered with Electric Vehicles for commercial use which will easy the transportation system within Ikoyi-Obalende and the maintenance will be bore by the company. According to him, there will be transparency in how things are being done and the beneficiaries will only be those that meet up with the expected criteria.
He specified that 40℅ of the empowerment will be allocated to women.
Furthermore, Hon Fuad , highlighted extensively on the projects executed and completed so far, all the areas that are currently fixed and the PHC that is expected to be completed by next year June.
On rapid response towards Security, Hon Fuad Atanda-Lawal said three Operational Vehicles will be purchased and distributed to the 3 Divisions: Dolphin, Ikoyi and Onikan.
The Council Manager, QS. Lukman Thompson in his welcome address, warmly welcomed, applauded and appreciated the large turnout of stakeholders’ present, which indicate true democracy.
He further urged all attendees at the meeting to identify and present most needed pressing issues in their communities, which will be noted and executed in order of Priorities.
Qs Thompson enjoined all to carefully take notes of cogent point and wish everyone happy and fruitful deliberation.
During Presentation of Needs, Hon. Ebun Ekemode from Ward A commended the efforts of the Chairman towards Obada market and desilting of canals for easy flow. On two hundred Electric Vehicles that two hundred qualified residents will benefit from, Mrs. Ekemode advised that standard garage be provided to ease traffic.
Pastor J. T West of the same Ward A, appreciated and praised the executive chairman for the swift response towards the people’ needs.
Mr. Hamzat Babatunde from Ward B presented the case of Ijeh, Dolphin roads that needed to be fixed and installation of street lights.
Mr. Ekemode appreciated the Chairman for all he did in Ward C and implored him to help install Street Lights where needed and also to pack and cart away refuse. He complained of inadequate maintenance.
Prince Adeogun talked about security and advised that CCTV be installed in some areas in Ward D. While Mr. Yemi Kefa mentioned that some areas in Ward E needed to be cleared especially during rainy season. He also implored the Chairman to fulfill all his promises.
In his response to all the stated needs, Hon.Fuad Atanda-Lawal said his administration will ensure that the development is brought to every Ward and they will not relent till success is achieved!
He emphasized on Ikoyi Club Road whichit will soon wear a new look and be more motorable before the end of the year.
The Vice Chairman, Hon. Macaulay in his remarks and vote of thanks appreciated all stakeholders and everyone for attending 2024 budget stakeholders meeting in other to prepare adequately and continue to deliver dividend of democracy to the people , He also gave kudos to everyone for making it a meaningful and interactive session .finally the meeting was brought to an end with a closing prayer by Pastor James a political leader in ward A.
