YEAR 2023 STAKEHOLDERS CONSULTATIVE FORUM: Eti-Osa Local Government presents Budget of Transformation

The Stakeholders Consultative Meeting took place in Eti-Osa Local Government on the Tuesday, 21st of November, 2023, at the secretariat. The Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole led administration, which is committed to driving positive change and transformation tagged the Stakeholders Consultative Meeting as the ‘Budget of Transformation’. The meeting attracted diverse group of participants, ranging from the Legislative Councillors, the Executives, Management team, Community Leaders, Civil Society Organizations, Women and Youth Groups, amidst other relevant stakeholders, and was aimed at gathering input and feedback from the community regarding the budget for the fiscal year 2023.

The Stakeholders Consultative Meeting took place in Eti-Osa Local Government on the Tuesday, 21st of November, 2023, at the secretariat. The Hon. The meeting attracted diverse group of participants, ranging from the Legislative Councillors, the Executives, Management team, Community Leaders, Civil Society Organizations, Women and Youth Groups, amidst other relevant stakeholders, and was aimed at gathering input and feedback from the community regarding the budget for the fiscal year 2023.

Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole, the Executive Chairman, who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Idowu Badru, spoke about the importance of a budget that is in tandem with the needs and aspirations of the people. He emphasized the need to prioritize the provision of basic amenities in the area of health, education, sanitation as well as youth and women empowerment programs.May be an image of 3 people

The participants were engaged in insightful discussions and shared ideas on budgeting strategies that empower transformation across various sectors, such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and social development. They also made suggestions on how the budget can be structured to maximize its impact on the people. Emphasis was also laid on the need for the government to allocate funds for the maintenance and construction of roads, provision of potable water, and also to prioritize youth and women empowerment programs that will engage them productively.

The supervisor for works, Hon. Maiyegun Abiodun, supervisor for health, Hon. Lookman Elegushi and supervisor for environment, Hon. Sharafa Balogun spoke on the achievements in their different sectors and the plans for the coming year, 2024. They expressed their gratitude to all the stakeholders and assured them that the government will continue to prioritize their needs and aspirations. The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Idowu Badru, who represented the executive chairman, led the interactive session and responded to all questions and comments. He urged them to continue to support the government in its quest to make Eti-Osa a better place for all.

The consultative meeting was a success as it provided the opportunity for meaningful engagement and dialogue between the government and the people. The outcome of the meeting will be collated and incorporated into the 2024 budget of the Local Government.
