All the participants in the forthcoming 17th Edition of the Inter-Agency Football competition, known as the ‘HOS Games’, among Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) including Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State have been implored to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the competition.

The Vice Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC), Mr. Richard Ogbe, stated this in his welcome address at the draws for the competition held on Thursday at Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa-Ikeja, adding that the competition is aimed at engendering and fostering the spirit of sportsmanship among staff of the State Public Service.
He stated that a lot of activities have been lined up to add glamour and glitz to the Competition, noting that participants from 74 MDAs and all LG/LCDAs will participate in the male and female categories of the football competition.
He maintained that this year’s HOS Games would commence on Wednesday, 8th September, 2023 with a play-off held before the main tournament.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Technical Committee, Mr. Olaokun Okunnu stressed that measures have been put in place to ensure that only qualified members of staff take part in the 2023 HoS Games, stressing that all prospective players are required to attach their letters of appointment, staff identification card and medical certificate of fitness to their registration forms.
Okunnu warned team Managers and Coaches not to field ineligible players, adding that any MDA that contravenes the rule would be banned from the Competition.
He disclosed that the Competition would be held at four venues, namely; Agidingbi Primary School playing ground, Dairy Farm Primary School playing ground, Agege, Isheri-Olowo Ira Mini-Stadium and LASUTH Mini Stadium.
