Wateraid Advocates For Wash In Ojodu LCDA

In an effort to further increase the advocacy for a clean and hygienic society, Clean Family Campaign carried out community-based  Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Behaviour Change campaign at all the Six Wards within Ojodu LCDA.

 

In an effort to further increase the advocacy for a clean and hygienic society, Clean Family Campaign carried out community-based  Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Behaviour Change campaign at all the Six Wards within Ojodu LCDA.

 

The innovative, inclusive and highly particpatory campaign was aimed at garnering support for all citizens to easily adopt and practice hygiene behaviour as a social norm.

 

This initiative is also a step towards the actualization the Presidential Executive Order for the eradication open defication by the year 2025.

 

Going by the campaign slogan “clean family, happy family”, the participants at the grassroots were encouraged to adopt hygiene behaviours that will help in eradication many epidemics and pandemics such as cholera, COVID19, Ebola etc plaguing our world today.

 

The hygiene campaign corroborated the efforts of the Executive Chairman Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku, who places premium priority on increasing the health, wellbeing and standard of living of Ojodu LCDA citizens through his HEYS (Health, Education, Youth Empowerment, Social Infrastructure) Mission.

 

The campaign was initiated by WaterAid Nigeria in conjunction with other stakeholders such as Ministry of Health, Ojodu LCDA, Kimberly-Clerk, and other Civil Society Organizations.

 

Several material such as potties, hand fans, wristbands, customized badges were distributed to participants at all the Six Wards in Ojodu LCDA.
