Legendary Nollywood actor, Prince Jide Kosoko, on Friday 12th January 2024 clocked 70th birthday and on Sunday 14th January, a Thanksgiving Service was held at Embrace International Church, Awolowo road, Ikorodu and followed with a grand-reception to host family, colleagues, friends and well-wishers at his resident in style as he captures the essence of gratitude and good health.
The veteran Nigerian actor, film director and producer, Prince Jide Kosoko was born on January 12, 1954 with a career spanning several decades, he has become a prominent figure in Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry.
In a ‘Special Birthday Interview with the Publisher/Editor of Lagos Panorama ‘Tayo Aderinola, the Nollywood Legend, Prince Kosoko expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to God Almighty for seeing him through all the difficult challenges in his 70 years of life sojourn.
Prince Kosoko affirmed that “I have every reason to thank God for seeing me through all the difficult challenges at every stage of my life. I appreciate God so much.
He urged upcoming youth to ensure they acquire the right training in any endeavor they choose, emphasized that training is key to success.

Amid glitz and glamour, the reception transformed into a gathering of notable figures in the Nigerian film industry, politics, business, and others, where colleagues, friends, and fans showered love on the veteran actor through heartfelt tributes.
The Special Assistant to the President, Public Affairs and Strategy, Office of the First Lady, Hon Wahab Alawiye-King in a chat with Lagos Panorama at the event described the iconic Lagos Prince as a crowd puller, crowd pleaser and his contributions to both film and culture are commendable.
He urged upcoming actors to emulate Prince Jide Kosoko’s hard work and perseverance.
Alawiye-King also noted that “he has continue to make our society a better place and we really appreciate his contribution to the entertainment industry, art and culture”.
The Senator representing Lagos East was represented by his media aide Enitan Olukotun.
Veteran actresses and actors such as veteran Adebayo Salami, Iya Awero, Dele Odule, Yinka Quadri, Taiwo Hassan, Kunle Afod, Saheed Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Rose Odika, Lizzy Anjorin, and others graced the birthday celebration.
Excitement and nostalgia filled the air as notable actors shared memories of Kosoko’s iconic roles, recounting personal experiences working with the legend.
