The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for leading Nigeria’s ongoing technological renaissance — a bold, deliberate transformation positioning the nation as Africa’s digital powerhouse.

In a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Seye Oladejo (Mogaji), the party described President Tinubu’s digital agenda as a continuation of his enduring legacy of innovation and visionary governance — one that began during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, where technology became the engine of public sector reform, revenue modernization, and improved service delivery.

“Today, that legacy has evolved into a national digital masterplan driving growth, innovation, and youth empowerment,” Oladejo said.

Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Tinubu administration has intensified investment in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem. Flagship programmes such as the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative — implemented through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy — are equipping young Nigerians with critical skills in coding, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, positioning them as global competitors rather than job seekers.

President Tinubu’s ambitious broadband expansion policy, targeting 70% national coverage by 2025, is bridging the connectivity gap across rural and urban communities. Complementary initiatives — including the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the Digital Public Infrastructure Initiative, and the Nigeria Startup Act implementation — have established a robust framework to sustain innovation.

The results, Oladejo noted, are already visible. Nigeria’s fintech industry, led by global brands such as Flutterwave, Paystack, and Moniepoint, has cemented the country’s dominance in Africa’s financial technology space. Local startups like Andela, Interswitch, and Kuda continue to attract billions in foreign investments, while thriving tech hubs in Lagos, Abuja, and Kaduna, and partnerships with Google, Microsoft, and Meta, demonstrate Nigeria’s growing global relevance.

Beyond the private sector, the APC spokesman highlighted how government-led digital initiatives — including e-governance reforms, online business registration, digital ID systems, and e-taxation — are transforming public administration through enhanced transparency and accountability.

“These are not accidental successes,” Oladejo said. “They are the product of President Tinubu’s strategic vision to diversify the economy, reduce dependence on oil, and power growth through knowledge and innovation.”

He emphasized that the Tinubu administration’s digital reforms reflect the successful Lagos model — where technology modernized governance and expanded the tax net, making Lagos Nigeria’s undisputed economic hub. That blueprint, he said, is now being replicated nationwide.

Oladejo urged Nigerians to look beyond political distractions and acknowledge the silent revolution unfolding across the digital landscape.

“President Tinubu is not just talking about the future — he is building it, byte by byte, code by code, and innovation by innovation,” he declared.

Taking a swipe at opposition parties, Oladejo remarked that while critics remain “trapped in analog politics,” President Tinubu is busy securing Nigeria’s digital destiny by investing in broadband, training millions of young Nigerians, and creating a sustainable framework for future generations.

“Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he concluded, “Nigeria is not merely catching up with the world — we are taking the lead as Africa’s digital vanguard.”

It has been a perilous moment of unmitigated insecurity in Nigeria, and looking at the Owo Massacre, where in terrorist invaded our land unimpeded just like they did exactly a year before in Igangan Town in Oyo State, while other Southwest states from Ogun, Ekiti, Osun and Ondo are not spared, leaving us to see this as an act of unwarranted provocation capable of snowballing into a grave deadly and dangerous consequences, if continuously treated with kid's gloves by the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Republic of Nigeria.
