President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the nation is turning a corner economically and security-wise, declaring that “the walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” in his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims across Nigeria and the world.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the nation is turning a corner economically and security-wise, declaring that “the walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” in his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims across Nigeria and the world.

The President extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, describing the festival as a reminder of the enduring virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice, unity, and compassion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

Tinubu said the occasion calls on Nigerians to embrace selflessness and extend love and support to one another, especially the less privileged, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or background.

Reflecting on his administration’s reforms, the President acknowledged the sacrifices Nigerians have endured over the past three years but insisted the tough decisions were necessary to rebuild the nation and secure a stronger future.

According to him, the reforms have already begun yielding positive results, including a more stable economy and improved investor confidence capable of driving job creation and economic growth.

On security, Tinubu reassured citizens that his administration remains committed to defeating terrorism and banditry, despite ongoing attacks in some communities. He referenced the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader as evidence of the progress being made by security agencies.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” the President stated.

He urged Muslims to use the sacred celebration to pray for Nigeria, its leaders, and peace across the country, while also calling on criminals to abandon their evil ways or face the full weight of the law.

Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to fulfil Nigeria’s promise as a great nation.

The President concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful, joyous, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts the sacrifices and prayers of the faithful.

“Eid Mubarak! Happy Sallah!” he declared.
