Tinubu Lauds Security Agencies as 38 Kwara Worshippers, 51 Niger Students Regain Freedom

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says the successful rescue of abducted persons in Kwara and Niger states reflects the renewed intensity of the nation’s security operations.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says the successful rescue of abducted persons in Kwara and Niger states reflects the renewed intensity of the nation’s security operations.

In a statement on Friday, the President recalled that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa in order to personally coordinate ongoing security efforts across the country.

According to him, the combined operations of security forces over the past few days led to the safe recovery of all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State. He also confirmed that 51 of the students kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State have been rescued.

President Tinubu noted that he continues to receive real-time updates from security commanders nationwide and remains fully engaged with efforts to stabilise troubled areas.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace across the country, stating:

“Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”
