President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a clear affirmation of his visionary leadership and the remarkable progress recorded under his administration.

In a statement issued from the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu noted that Governor Soludo’s overwhelming victory at the polls has placed him among a distinguished few — the third governor in Anambra’s political history to secure a second term.

The President commended the people of Anambra State for their peaceful participation, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a credible and orderly process.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his leadership and the transformative work taking place in Anambra. He has demonstrated that knowledge, discipline, and sound academic principles can drive good governance, transparency, and prudent management of resources,” President Tinubu stated.

Recalling his visit to Anambra in May, the President praised Governor Soludo’s visionary projects and innovative governance style, saying: “The experience of inaugurating projects executed under Mr. Solution remains indelible in my mind. His administration reflects the spirit of discipline, grace, and brilliance that Anambra stands for.”

President Tinubu urged Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents for the collective progress of the state.

He also assured the re-elected governor of the Federal Government’s continued collaboration and support in advancing development across the Southeast and the nation at large.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) once again demonstrates the vitality of Nigeria’s democracy and the strength of our political system, where hard work and performance are rewarded, regardless of party affiliation,” Tinubu added.

The President further commended INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers have described as a credible election, urging the commission to sustain and improve its performance in future polls.
