The President made the remarks in a statement marking Rahman’s 60th birthday on Tuesday, commending his longstanding commitment to service and unwavering dedication to duty.

In the statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu lauded Rahman’s leadership qualities and strong work ethic, particularly highlighting his role in the build-up to the 2023 presidential election, where he served as a key political liaison and media strategist.

“I celebrate Tunde Rahman for his outstanding qualities as he turns 60. He is a dedicated, humble and extraordinarily loyal aide who serves with utmost commitment,” the President said.

He further noted, “I appreciate his contributions to our progressive ideals and the promotion of good governance. He remains a steadfast and reliable aide whose advice and suggestions are sincere and free of any hidden agenda.”

Tinubu also described Rahman as a conscientious journalist and seasoned newspaper editor who deployed his craft in advancing public good and social justice.

Rahman, who previously served as Tinubu’s Adviser on Media, was appointed Senior Assistant on Media and Special Duties following the President’s victory in the 2023 election. His role during the campaign, particularly as political liaison and media strategist, was widely regarded as pivotal to the success of the All Progressives Congress campaign.

Before joining Tinubu’s political team, Rahman built a career in journalism, where he distinguished himself as a reporter and editor.

The President also offered prayers for Rahman, wishing him good health, wisdom and continued service to the nation and humanity as he marks his diamond jubilee.
