Tinubu Appoints New Heads for SHESTCO, NEMSA, Nominates RMAFC Commissioners

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved key appointments into strategic federal agencies, reinforcing his administration’s drive to strengthen governance, science, and infrastructure management.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved key appointments into strategic federal agencies, reinforcing his administration’s drive to strengthen governance, science, and infrastructure management.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President appointed Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu as the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja. SHESTCO is a foremost national research institution mandated to drive scientific and technological research and development, including the operation of Nigeria’s nuclear research facilities.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).

In addition, the President constituted a new Board for NEMSA. Members of the Board include Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez (Executive Director, Technical); Ikechi Clara Nwosu (Chairman, South East); Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris (Member); Igba Elizabeth (Member, North Central); Sani Alhaji Shehu (Member, North East); Adeyemi Adetunji (Member, South West); Engr. Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe (Member, South South); and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa (Member, South East).

Furthermore, the President nominated Amina Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Muktar, representing Kaduna State, as Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The two nominees have been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation in line with constitutional provisions.

The appointments were announced by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on February 10, 2026, under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
