Lagos Taskforce , Okada riders clash at Second Rainbow, Apapa-Oshodi expressway

Officials of the Lagos State Task Force and commercial motorcyclists (Okada riders) on Tuesday clashed at Second Rainbow Bus Stop along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.

According to eyewitness, the task force officers, who went to arrest the Okada riders, seize their bikes, were faced with serious opposition which led to chaos in the area.

Motorcyclists created bonfires on the express, which has led to traffic on the express en route Mile2.

Residents have been advised to avoid this route pending when normalcy will return to the area.

In a bid to express their displeasures, the Okada riders set bonfires on the expressway, leading to gridlock.

“We trekked long distances under the scorching sun,” a commuter, told our correspondent.

It was learnt that the Okada riders’ action paralysed activities in the area – Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
