Tanker explosion rocks Lagos, no life loss – Lagos PPRO

Two tankers have exploded at the popular Otedola Bridge in Lagos. The accident involved 3 trucks.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA) after responding to distress calls from the area, said a 40fit containerized truck loaded with fabric had a brake failure while moving inward Berger.

It said the truck then collided with a tanker loaded with 33000 liters of Lagos, which resulted in a fire outbreak.

The explosion reportedly occurred around 2am.

Meanwhile, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi had announced that no life was loss in the accident.

Adejobi stated that “the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu was at the scene of the fire incident at Otedola end of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway today, Sat 17th Oct, 2020, for an on the spot assessment and evacuation to allow free flow of traffic”.

“The accident involved 3 trucks. No live was lost to the incident. Monitoring on going” PPRO Lagos reported.
