SERAP sues FG, Lai Muhammed over repressive directive to broadcasters to stop using Twitter

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit asking the Federal High Court in Abuja “to stop the Federal Government and the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Muhammed from using their patently unlawful directive to all TV and radio stations not to use Twitter, and to delete their accounts as a pretext to harass, intimidate, suspend or impose criminal punishment on journalists and broadcast stations simply for using social media platforms.”

LASG penalizes erring schools for 2020 WASSCE/BECE Examination malpractice

As part of efforts of the Lagos State Government’s zero-tolerance policy on examination malpractice, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo who was represented by the Chairman, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Mrs Elizabeth Ariyo, led the investigation panel of enquiry where 19 schools were investigated and indicted for general examination malpractice and document falsification by the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) during the year 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
