Police operatives on anti-crime patrol along Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu, Lagos have arrested a 36-year-old suspected cultist identified as Muyideen Olatunbosun.
The suspect was arrested following an intelligence received during the patrol, Lagos Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to her, a search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of one rubber-made pistol, one axe, criminal charms and an illicit drug popularly known as “Ice”.
The Police spokesperson said suspect is currently in custody and is assisting with the ongoing investigation she added that efforts are also ongoing to apprehend other members of his alleged cult group.
Adebisi quoted Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, as commending the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to credible information.
