Succor for vulnerable residents of Oriade LCDA as Akinola-Hassan disburses 25m to one-thousand indigents, 5m to 50 widows

The Council boss in her keynote address at the occasion of disbursement stated that 25 million naira were disbursed through conditioner transfer of 25,000 each to the bank account of one-thousand indigent residents and fifty widows were also presented with cash of hundred thousand naira each.

The Chairman noted that the beneficiaries were selected across the seven wards of Council.

1-million-naira educational grant was presented to the only child of a murdered APC chieftain who was killed in 2021 during local government electioneering campaign period.

Recall that Lagos Panorama report in July 2021 that a member of the All Progressive Congress Party, APC and Vice Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Samuel Kayode, popularly known as Ekpo Kinkin, was shot dead at Agboju area of Lagos.

She explained that the exercise was carried out close to the Yuletide to enable residents cope with the rising cost of food in order to celebrate the season in good mood.

Hon. Akinlola-Hassan however appealed to all the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the largess.

She stressed that her mission from day one after taking the oath of office was the wellbeing of the people of Oriade LCDA.

While assuring that the dividend of democracy will be surely extended to all residents, she assured those yet to benefit from the poverty alleviation scheme that her administration will take care of their interest in due course.

Most of the beneficiaries that cut across ages, gender, tribes and religion expressed appreciation to the council boss while pledging full support to all her programs and policies.
