Shun bitter politics over Sanwo-Olu’s first term achievements, Lagos APC berates PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State Chapter, on Saturday, berated the statement by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s achievement during his first term in office.

The party’s State Publicity Secretary, Hon Seye Oladejo, in a press release available to Lagos Panorama, noted that the APC would have ignored the biased opinion of the PDP, but it was important to set the record straight.

The PDP had said that Governor Sanwo-Olu’s achievements in his first term in office were characterised by an increase in poverty and unemployment.
Reacting to the comment, Oladejo said there was no better response than the referendum that the last gubernatorial election in the state represented with the massive votes for Sanwo-Olu across the length and breadth of the state and across ethnic, religious and gender divides.

Oladejo said Lagosians remain proud of Sanwo-Olu’s achievements in public transportation, healthcare, education, the environment, job creation, tourism, security and safety, sports, youth and women development, among others.

He said: “Our attention has been drawn to the jaundiced remark of the former main opposition party in Lagos State, PDP, as regards the achievements of Governor Sanwo-Olu in his first term in office.

“We would ordinarily have ignored the warped and obviously biased opinion of the party, but it is imperative to save them from the misery inflicted by their recent electoral defeats by putting things in perspective.

“There is no better response to this than the referendum that the last gubernatorial election in Lagos State represented with the massive votes for Sanwo-Olu across the state and across ethnic, religious and gender divides.”

“It was an eloquent testimony to the glittering performance of the state government in all sectors as represented by the much-acknowledged THEMES mantra.

“Without doubt, it is reckless and irresponsible politicking to blindly refuse to acknowledge the state government’s achievements in checking the COVID-19 pandemic, which literally saved the Nigerian nation.

“The completion of the various projects inherited from his predecessors underscores his commitment to the prudent management of state resources.
“The THEME PLUS is simply an agenda to complete what was started during the first term, take it to the next level and further improve the fortunes of all Lagosians through responsible and responsive governance.

“It should be more of a serious concern to the PDP that it has lost relevance by yielding its perpetual second position to a tottering party. The Sanwo-Olu administration will resist all childish attempts to distract it from its constitutional responsibilities and successfully cater for the teeming populace.”

Activist and Senior Lawyer, Richard Akinola Speaks On Sunday Igboho’s Ultimatum To Fulani

I have just been able to distill a couple of materials, videos and write-ups on the recent activities of Yoruba activist called Sunday Igboho. Quite frankly, l must admit, l have not been following his activities, until late last night when l saw a video where he was addressing the people of Ibarapa, in Oyo state over his claims that Fulani herdsmen killed some Yoruba people and that he had given the fulanis quit notice from the community. The quit notice, expired yesterday.
