A member of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up by Lagos State Government to investigate cases of abuse of human rights by security agencies, popularly known as the #EndSARS Panel, Temitope Majekodunmi has said the State Government deserved to be commended for providing the logistics for the panel to conclude its assignment.

In an interview with Arise News monitored in Lagos on Wednesday, Majekodunmi said there was no time either Mr Governor or the government attempted to frustrate the panel or influence members from doing what is right.

After about 12 months investigation, the panel had submitted its report to Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday, and made damming recommendations against the government, the military, the police and other organisations over the shooting incidents at #Lekkitollgate on October 10, 2020.

Majekodunmi, who is a youth representative on the panel, said the state government provided the necessary funding and logistics for the panel to work, adding: “To the best of my knowledge, there was no time members of the panel were contacted for the purpose of influencing our report.”

Already, Mr Governor has set up a four-man Committee headed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) for the purpose of coming up with recommendations on White Paper which will be deliberated on by the State Executive Council before being released to the public.
