Sanwo olu/Ajegunle Mock Nations Cup excites Showkey

The popular Ajegunle music artiste Daddy Showkey has gone on social media to express his support for the All Progressives Congress’ Lagos State governorship candidate Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu who is the sponsor of the 36 year old Ajegunle Mock Nations Cup.

Showkey on his Instagram page #daddyshowkey posted a footage of himself and the APC candidate Sanwo-Olu. Daddy Showkey in the video stated that “Who no like better thing, make e go take im head hit wall, Lagos done make decision and them done stand with the decision. See who I dey with; ejo, ejo, na so” while hitting knuckles with Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He also had the banner of the Sanwo-Olu/Ajegunle Mock Nations Cup with the write-up “The Great City of Ajegunle thank @jidesanwoolu for standing and supporting the greatest grassroots football competition in Africa, AJEGUNLE MOCK NATIONS CUP. He has promised to develop grassroots all around Lagos. Sanwoolu we dey look oh, promise us say you no go change oooo! For this, I stand with the grassroots development. Oya SANWO ALL THE WAY! #showdonshow #daddyshowkey #lionclan #asalamamovement #ajegunletotheworld #positionurself”.

Last week the Director of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group (ICG) Sports Directorate, Mr. Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan informed the media about the readiness of the ICG Sports Directorate to support the grassroots initiative. He stated, “our principal Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is committed to the grassroots development so we will be giving all the required support to make a success of the Sanwo-Olu/Ajegunle Mock Nations Cup and several other grassroots sports development initiatives across Lagos state”.

“Mr. Sanwo-Olu accepted to partner with the oldest and biggest grassroots football competition with a strong conviction that it will serve as a veritable platform for talent discovery and productive youth empowerment which he promised to take to a higher level when elected as the governor of Lagos State” the BOS ICG Sports Director concluded.

Meanwhile, after 12 matches of pulsating encounters among the national teams of African origin, 8 teams qualified from the group stage for the quarter-finals in which Morocco defeated Somalia by 5 goals to 3. Sierra Leone went down 2 – 3 to Libya. Congo were outclassed by Algeria 1 – 4 and
Mali. 0 VS 1 Uganda.

The semi-final pairings of the SANWO-OLU AJEGUNLE MOCK NATION’S CUP are slated to hold on Thursday, 20th of December and Friday, 21st of December 2018:

MOROCCO VS ALGERIA: Thursday, 20th December while the other semi-final, LIBYA VS UGANDA comes up on Friday 21st December. Kick off time for both matches is 4pm.

Sunday, December 23rd is scheduled for the third place match while the grand finale will take place on Thursday, 27th December, 2018 at the Naval Playing Ground, Navy Barracks, Ajegunle-Apapa, Lagos.

The 36 year old tournament is organised by AJEGUNLE COSMOPOLITAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION in partnership with BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWO-OLU ICG Sports Directorate.
