Video Very Old, No Policemen Attached to him presently

The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has reacted to a viral video showing at least seven policemen escorting a yet-to-be-identified man who was walking with a knife to slaughter a cow.

A tweep, Yemie Fash, earlier shared the video on his handle and tagged the Force PRO, asking why the man had so many policemen escorting him.

He wrote: “Hello, #Princemoye1 Who is this man, why does he have so many #PoliceNG men following him?”

Reacting, Adejobi retweeted the video on Thursday morning on his official Twitter handle, describing the act of the officers as ‘disgusting.’

According to him, the police officers would be fished out, stressing that a committee has been set up to consider the withdrawal of officers from such services.

He wrote: “This is condemned. We will fish out these men. It’s even disgusting. We have set up a committee to look into the process of withdrawing our PMF/tactical men from such services and use them for the announced Quick Intervention Squad.

“Deployment of policemen to individuals will surely be reviewed and regularised. When the committee submits its report, the Ag. IGP will act as fast as possible to implement the policy.”

We wish to state categorically that the viral video of a mallam who was seen escorted by some armed Mobile Policemen to slaughter a cow in his compound is very old. The video surfaced in the year 2022, not a new one as being widely and willfully circulated on Wednesday, 28th June, 2023.

The Police took necessary action, even withdrew the policemen attached to him when the video went viral last year. We dont have any policemen attached to him at the moment. Thank you.

Muyiwa Adejobi, Force PRO.
