The League of Former Ward Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have appointed the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Tayo Ayinde as the group’s Grand Patron and also presented him with the ‘Distinguished Grassroots Mobilizer Excellent Award’
The appointment letter presentation and investiture took place on Monday June 12, at the Ikeja GRA resident of the CoS
The Coordinator of the Group, Comrade Tayo Aderinola while presenting the appointment letter and award plaque said “It is with great honor and humility that the League of Former Ward Chairmen of our great Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), after considering your immense contributions, selfless efforts, and with your sagacious political experience which will be of great benefits to our body, we therefore unanimously appoint you as our Grand Patron, League of Former Ward Chairmen Ikeja Federal Constituency”.
Aderinola further noted “in furtherance of the recognition of your topnotch leadership and massive mobilization of the grassroots for our party in the last general elections as the D.G. of the ICG for Sanwo-Olu/ Hamzat and Tinubu/Shettima, we present you with the ‘Distinguished Grassroots Mobilizer Excellent Award‘ in appreciation of your service to the good people of Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos State and Nigeria”.
In his acceptance remark to his appointment as the Grand Patron and award presentation, the soft-spoken ‘Buffalo’ as fondly called by political associates, expressed his gratitude to the grassroots managers for their recognition and expressed his acceptance to be the Grand Patron of the association.
Mr. Ayinde said “as former ward chairmen no doubt you all have good followership and your contributions are impactful for the growth of our party”.
“I gracefully accept to be your Grand Patron and would give you all the required supports. As the saying goes; charity they say begins at home, hence I would want you to be very close me so as to be able to give account to others as my immediate constituency”.
“I sincerely appreciate you all for the award, thank all and God bless”.
Prayers were rendered in both Islamic and Christian faiths.
