President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of two new Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in parastatals and agencies under the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy following recommendations of the Minister, Adegboyega Oyetola.
They are: Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Akutah Pius Ukeyima.
The President, in a statement yesterday by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, charged the appointees to faithfully implement the policies and programmes of the minister in pursuit of the expeditious and efficient attainment of enhanced revenues and investments as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
Also, the Nigerian leader sanctioned new Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In another statement, presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said the appointment is for a term of five years each, and subject to confirmation of the Senate.
The nominated RECs include Isah Shaka Ehimeakne for Edo State; Bamidele Agbede (Ekiti); Jani Adamu Bello (Gombe) and Dr. Taiye Ilayasu (Kwara).
Others are Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi as Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner; Alhaji Yahaya Bello— (Nasarawa); Prof. Mohammed Yalwa (Niger); Dr. Anugbum (Rivers) and Abubakar Fawa Dambo (Zamfara).
The President urged the new electoral umpires to abide by the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.
