Promises to fulfil consolidation promise
As new administration commences immediately
Earlier today, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) issued Certificate of Return to Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA), Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA and his 56 contemporaries across Lagos LGs and LCDAs at the LASIEC office, Yaba, Lagos State.
In an engagement with the media, Hon. Olatunde stated that his re-election will enable him to gear more efforts towards the development of Olorunda LCDA. He further noted that his resolve to fulfill every promise itemized before the conduction of his re-election remains intact.
In a separate development, the Council Mayor and his contemporaries, were sworn in by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu within the premises of the State House, Alausa-Ikeja.
In his address, Mr. Sanwo-Olu charged all the re-elected Mayors to ensure that the trust of the people is validated with sound policies that are guaranteed to deliver dividends of democracy to people across the LGs and LCDAs in the State.
Speaking further, the Governor charged the newly inaugurated Chairmen thus;
“Ensure that indeed your welfare programmes touches the lives of the citizens that have elected you. This is not the time in which you want to alienate anyone that is not part of your group. This is not the time that you want to say that these are the people that have voted me in, these are the people that did not vote me in, this is not the time in which you want to be by-partisan, this is the time for real governance. This is the time for everybody that is in your community to feel the essence of governance.”
He concluded by pledging adequate support from the State government to the Councils in other to ensure that campaign promises are fulfilled.
