During the operation, two suspected kidnappers were neutralised in a gun battle with police personnel, while two firearms were recovered from the criminal gang.

Mrs. John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons were abducted at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while she was reportedly taking the children to school.

The successful rescue followed intensive efforts by security operatives to track and dismantle the kidnapping network responsible for the abduction.

Police authorities disclosed that security personnel are currently combing surrounding communities and forested areas in search of other members of the syndicate who fled during the operation. Some of the fleeing suspects are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

The victims have been safely reunited with their family, while investigations and manhunt operations continue to ensure all those connected to the crime are brought to justice.
