In a coordinated operation across several districts in Abuja, police operatives have arrested 78 suspects and seized illicit drugs in raids conducted late on April 19.

In a coordinated operation across several districts in Abuja, police operatives have arrested 78 suspects and seized illicit drugs in raids conducted late on April 19.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that at approximately 2340 hours, officers from Tungan Maje, Kubwa, Jabi, Nyanya, Kabusa, Karmo, Utako, Dawaki, and Gwarinpa Divisions carried out a series of raids targeting known black spots and uncompleted buildings in their respective areas of responsibility.

During the operation, police reportedly recovered dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit substances.

The arrested suspects are currently being screened and interrogated at their respective divisions. Those found to be involved in criminal activities will be charged to court.

According to police, the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain peace in the Federal Capital Territory.
