PBAT 2027 Support Group Hits Lagos Streets in Massive Tinubu, Hamzat Campaign

The PBAT 2027 Re-election Support Group has taken its campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the streets of Lagos, mobilising grassroots supporters in renewed efforts to promote the President, Lagos State governorship candidate Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The campaign roadshow, which commenced on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from the APC Campaign Office on Awolowo Way, Ikeja, was led by the group’s Director-General, Dr. Afolabi Tinubu.

Party supporters and members of the group moved through major streets, chanting solidarity songs and engaging residents on the achievements of the Tinubu administration and the need to support the APC in the forthcoming elections.

The first major stop was Ojodu Local Council Development Area, where the campaign train arrived at Berger Bus Stop. There, the team sensitised residents and commuters on the group’s support for President Tinubu’s re-election, Hamzat’s governorship ambition and other APC candidates across Lagos State.

The campaign train subsequently visited a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Cardinal James Odumbaku, in Ojodu LCDA, where the team received a warm welcome.

Responding, Cardinal Odumbaku commended the support group for taking the campaign to the grassroots and assured members of his support.

He said the group was working towards the same objective of securing President Tinubu’s re-election and ensuring continuity for the administration’s ongoing programmes.

“We are working towards the same aspiration for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s re-election to complete the good work that has started,” he said.

The APC chieftain urged the group not to relent but to sustain its grassroots mobilisation strategy, particularly through house-to-house campaigns and direct engagement with residents.

At Akiode Market, Dr. Afolabi Tinubu also met with a representative of the market women association and assured the traders of his support, promising to engage with their representatives on their demands, including political representation in the State House of Assembly.

The campaign train thereafter continued its mobilisation drive through Ogba, Sunday, Agidingbi, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Oregun and Opebi Link before terminating around Allen Junction.

A major highlight of the roadshow was the distribution of campaign souvenirs, including face caps and T-shirts, to supporters and members of the public as part of the group’s grassroots mobilisation strategy.

Speaking with Lagos Panorama, Dr. Afolabi Tinubu described Tuesday’s roadshow as the beginning of a wider campaign programme designed to take the achievements of President Tinubu directly to the people.

“This is just the beginning. We are planning 24 more campaigns across Lagos and the South-West, taking the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the grassroots and explaining what he has done and why we need to continue the good work,” he said.

Dr. Tinubu explained that the group’s strategy differs from conventional political campaigns, noting that it would prioritise direct engagement with the people rather than relying heavily on posters and billboards.

“What distinguishes PBT 2027 Re-election Support Group from others is that we are not printing posters or billboards. We disseminate our messages through direct contact with the people,” he said.

He further reaffirmed the group’s commitment to mobilising support for President Tinubu, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat in Lagos State, Senator Olamilekan Yayi in Ogun State, Senator Sarafa Alli in Oyo State, as well as APC candidates contesting for the Senate, House of Representatives and State Houses of Assembly.

Also speaking with the media, the Ikeja Coordinator of the PBT 2027 Re-election Support Group, Hon. Abimbola Oshikoya, expressed satisfaction with the enthusiasm demonstrated by residents and party supporters during the roadshow.

She said the warm reception and demand for campaign souvenirs reflected the confidence and support enjoyed by the APC as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

According to Oshikoya, “Even a day-old baby knows that President Bola Tinubu has done very well.”

She cited major infrastructure projects and economic interventions by the administration, urging Nigerians to assess the government’s performance objectively rather than being swayed by ethnic or religious sentiments.

“Is it the NELFUND or the Coastal Road? Go and look at the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway,” she said.

Oshikoya subsequently urged Lagos residents and Nigerians across the country to participate actively in the 2027 elections and vote for President Tinubu and other APC candidates.
