The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has described the massive solidarity walk by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across major roads in Ikeja as a strong endorsement of the leadership and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The rally, which drew party faithful from Ikeja Local Government, Onigbongbo and Ojodu Local Council Development Areas, was organised to reaffirm support for President Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the exercise, AKOD said the turnout reflected the confidence of the people in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the remarkable strides recorded by the Tinubu administration since assuming office.
He highlighted key achievements of the Federal Government, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the ongoing Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan scheme, local government autonomy, regular disbursement of statutory allocations to local governments, and the approval of a new salary structure for federal civil servants.
According to him, these initiatives have demonstrated the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth, improved workers’ welfare and youth empowerment.
AKOD also expressed optimism that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, would implement the new salary structure for state employees, noting that local government workers would equally benefit in due course.
He urged Nigerians to sustain their support for President Tinubu by ensuring his re-election for a second term, while also calling on Lagos residents to rally behind Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State, stressing that continuity of progressive leadership remains the foundation for greater development and shared prosperity.
