The Super Eagles of Nigeria have recorded their biggest international victory, beating Falcons of Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualification match and moved top of Group A after the comprehensive win in Agadir, Morocco on Monday afternoon.
The Super Eagles pegged back the hosts in the opening minutes and were rewarded when Victor Osimhen scored the opener in the ninth minute.
Osimhen nodded home following a superb cross from Moses Simon.
The Super Eagles wasted a number of chances afterwards.
Jose Peseiro’s side, however, doubled their lead two minutes before the half-hour mark with Simon tapping home after he was set up by Osimhen.
The lively Terem Moffi scored Nigeria’s third of the game two minutes before the break dribbling past two defenders before slotting home. Terem Moffi, who plays his club football for Lorient in France, recorded a brace.
The Super Eagles scored six more goals after the break to make the score line more emphatic.
Osimhen netted three times, with Moses Simon, Oghenekaro Etebo Ademola Lookman and substitute Emmanuel Dennis all scoring once.
The Super Eagles top Group A with six points and 11 goals from two games.

They began their campaign with a slightly more modest victory, beating Sierra Leone 2-1 at home.
Nigeria will be hoping to reach the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast between June 23 and July 23 next summer. Senegal are the reigning champions.
Sierra Leone and Guinea-Bissau played 2-2 draw in the other game of the group.
