Osimhen hits hat-trick as Super Eagles crush Sao Tome & Principe

Red-hot Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen scored a hat-trick on Sunday as the Super Eagles crushed Sao Tome Principe 6-0 to top Group A in their last African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

Red-hot Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen scored a hat-trick on Sunday as the Super Eagles crushed Sao Tome Principe 6-0 to top Group A in their last African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

The Nigerian striker had scored four goals against Sao Tome & Principe in Eagles 10-0 win in the first leg on 13 June, 2022 away from home.

Osimhen opened scoring on 13 minutes after he was assisted by Ademola Lookman, while Lookman added a second goal for the Eagles midway into the first half, from Wilfred Ndidi assist.

Taiwo Awoniyi, who plies his trade for Nottingham Forest, scored the third goal for the Eagles on 51 minutes. Osimhen got his second goal of the match from the penalty spot on 70th minute.

The Napoli top striker scored his hat-trick on 70th minute of the game for Nigeria’s 5th goal. He was assisted by Samuel Chukwueze who plays for AC Milan in Italy.

Chukwueze then made it 6-0 for the Super Eagles four minutes to duration. He was assisted by Victor Boniface who plays for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.
