The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, in partnership with the National Social Investments Programme Agency (NSIPA), the National Cash Transfer Office, the Lagos State Cash Transfer Office, and the Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has commenced the issuance of tailored Conditional Cash Transfer ATM cards to residents of Orile-Agege LCDA.
The event, held at the Orile-Agege LCDA Secretariat in Arigbanla on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, commenced with a warm welcome by Hon. Ìdòwú Akinola, the Executive Chairman, to residents and officials in attendance for the disbursement exercise.
In his address, Hon. Idowu stressed the importance of the intervention, noting its role as a renewed source of hope and support for vulnerable households within the community: “This programme is not just about financial assistance; it is about empowering our people, restoring dignity, and strengthening livelihoods in Orile-Agege,” he stated.
Beneficiaries were carefully chosen from the National Social Register, which identifies impoverished and vulnerable households nationwide.
Each recipient will receive a personalized ATM card pre-loaded with financial support ranging from ₦20,000 to ₦75,000.
In the inaugural batch, 965 beneficiaries received their ATM cards today, commencing at 9:00 a.m.
Mr. Mojeed Dawuda, LGA Coordinator for LASOCU, assured residents that this intervention is part of ongoing government efforts to reduce poverty and create lasting impact in communities.
This initiative represents another bold step by the Federal Government to translate its Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible benefits for households, ensuring that no one is left behind.
