In a bid to ameliorate the huge loss suffered by two fire disaster victims late last year,in Oriade Local Council Development Area,chairman of the council,Hon Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan has assisted them with the sum of two hundred thousand naira each.
Handing over the money to the victims last Thursday,17th March,2022, in her office,at the council secretariat,Hon Akinlola-Hassan urged the victims to accept the unfortunate incidents in good faith and take solace in the fact that they are still alive to pick up the pieces.
The council chairman added that the money being given out to them is not sufficient to give them complete recovery of their losses, but it will enable them start a new life.
While commiserating with one of the victims,Hon. Napoleon Iwalokun who lost two of his children to the fire disaster in Igbo-Alejo area of the council,in December,2021,Hon Akinlola-Hassan disclosed that her administration is working in collaboration with the Lagos State government towards the establishment of a Fire Service Station in the council area, to stem the tide of human and material loss to fire disaster incidents in the council area.She also commiserated with Musa Kazeem Omobolanle, the second victim,who lost all his personal belongings to another fire incident in November,2021,in Abule-Oshun, Satellite town.
The two fire victims expressed their profound appreciation to Hon Akinlola-Hassan for her moral and financial support to them and prayed to God to continue to give her wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of Oriade council successfully.
Mrs Aberuagba Mojisola,a political associate of Hon Napoleon Iwalokun received the sum of two hundred thousand naira from the council chairman on behalf of Hon Iwalokun, while Musa Omobolanle personally received his from Hon Akinlola-Hassan.
The brief event was witnessed by the former Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure in Oriade council, Rasak Olojede, erstwhile Supervisor for Health, Bashir Ajayi and the council’s Public Affairs Officer,Rabiu Hassan.
